How the UK Visa Salary Check Works
To qualify for a UK Skilled Worker visa, your offered salary must meet the higher of two thresholds:
- The general threshold — £38,700 for experienced workers, £30,960 for new entrants
- The SOC code going rate — the minimum salary for your specific occupation
This tool compares your salary against both thresholds for your selected SOC code. New entrants (under 26, recent graduates, or those switching from a Student/Graduate visa) benefit from a lower threshold at 70% of the going rate.
