Teaching Visa Sponsorship Jobs UK
Teaching is a recognised shortage area in several UK subjects, with secondary school mathematics, physics, chemistry and computer science teachers in particularly high demand. State schools, academies and multi-academy trusts can sponsor teachers under the Skilled Worker route, and many do so actively. University lecturers and researchers are also commonly sponsored. Overseas-trained teachers may need to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through the Teaching Regulation Agency, though some routes allow conditional hiring. Salary scales follow the national pay framework in state schools.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can teachers get visa sponsorship in the UK?
Yes. Teaching roles at RQF Level 6 qualify under the Skilled Worker route. Shortage subjects (maths, physics, chemistry, computing) are particularly well-sponsored. Both state schools and private institutions can hold sponsor licences.
Do I need QTS to teach in a UK school?
Maintained schools in England generally require QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). Academies, free schools and independent schools may hire without QTS. Overseas teachers can apply for QTS recognition through the Teaching Regulation Agency if they hold a comparable qualification.
